The field reacts to kinetic impact, energy signatures, certain psionic forces, temperature changes, etc. The bio-field is an extension of Cecilia's body, and so she feels the attack as its effect is dispersed over the field. Her power is subconscious, meaning it protects her from harm whether she wants it to or not, or is aware of the incoming threat or not. Eventually Cecilia learned how to manifest the field as a weapon to increase bludgeoning power of punches and hammer-strikes. |

| Origin Story | Cecilia Reyes was born into a Puerto Rican family in the Bronx, New York City. Growing up in a vibrant and culturally rich community, Cecilia's early years were marked by a strong sense of family and heritage. However, tragedy struck at the tender age of six when she witnessed the senseless murder of her father, Alejandro Reyes, in a drive-by shooting. This traumatic event left a lasting impact on Cecilia, shaping her worldview and igniting within her a fierce determination to make a difference in the world. Despite the devastating loss of her father, Cecilia was inspired to pursue a noble path in life. Fueled by a desire to heal and help others, she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to the pursuit of a career in medicine. Even at a young age, Cecilia exhibited remarkable resilience and determination, channeling her grief into a drive to succeed. Soon after achieving her goal, her mutant powers activated, and she contacted Charles Xavier who invited her to join Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters and his X-Men. She rejected the offer and asked Professor X to keep her status as a mutant secret, preferring to continue her trauma surgeon career at the Our Mother of Mercy Hospital in the South Bronx. After a decade of medical practice, the Mutant Response Division was formed and began hiring specialists in every field. Cecilia saw an opportunity to protect innocent mutants as well as the victims of evil ones, so she applied for a medical specialist position and worked her way into mid-level service as a special agent of the MRD. When she learned of the MRD's role in the Kennedy assassination, she chose to blow the whistle and lead to the exposure of a criminal conspiracy that rivaled the Hellfire Club itself with its hand in the passage of the Mutant Registration Act. As a result, Cecilia found a unique blend of career experience in accepting a position with Professor Charles Xavier. |
